Overview of Lesson

In this Inquiry-based lesson, students will be expanding their


knowledge of evolution by adding knowledge of natural
selection. Students will complete this activity before any
discussion is done on this topic so students can make
connections and truly grasp the concepts in discussion.

The first thing you need to complete is the Natural Selection Phet at
https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/natural-selection
When you are finished have it checked by Mr. V.
You will be assigned to a group.
Each person in your group needs to be assigned a question from Mr. V
Individually fill out the TicTacToe Notes.
Share your information with your group. You need to discuss which information your
group wants to include on your site. Look at the rubric to see how to earn all points
possible.
As a group, log onto google and start a new site. Look at the site template form on
how your page should be set up. Make your site and use the rubric.

How will this lesson fit into your overall curriculum planning?
I think this activity will be a great activity to expand their
knowledge about evolution and what is truly happening. This
inquiry based activity along with the internet allows students to
work through problems and misconceptions without any formal
discussions in class ahead of time. As a teacher, it will be nice to
see where the students minds are what needs to be gone over
and what misconceptions are still present. This activity fits great
