Collective Worship

We hold a daily act of Colllective Worship for all children (except those whose parents
exercise the right of withdrawal). Our Collective Worship is mainly of a broadly Christian
nature, reflecting the traditions of Christian belief but it is non-denominational.
Our broad aims are:

to develop a sense of fellowship by bringing pupils together to celebrate the

shared values of the school and the community here at school

to introduce pupils to various aspects of religious worship

to foster a sense of wonder, awe and beauty, mystery and power of the world

to foster a concern for others; for the need and value of others

to allow time for silent reflection, contemplation and prayer

to celebrate successes and special occasions (individual and school)

to allow expression of feelings such as delight, wonder, joy, rejoicing in the

good, sorrow and anger.

to foster new insights into life and to provide opportunities for pupils to share
what is meaningful and significant to them.

The act of worship should be a personal, positive, response from pupils which should be
individual and voluntary.
