My name is Christopher Lee Canada and I spent 29 years as a commissioned, active duty officer in the United States Air Force. Throughout my military career, my jobs and positions required me to assess, train and mentor people around me. Her integrity, work ethic, communication skills and commitment to her work are exemplary and beyond reproach. Heather Giles always wants to bring out the best in others. She has and continues to be an outstanding Mother and mentor to her three wonderful children, Her care and compassion are also evident in her dealings with her parents and brothers. When her students need assistance, Heather is more than willing to help them with their concerns, be it academic or otherwise. On a recent campus tour of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, her youngest son Andrew came across one of his Mother’s students. The student was happy to find out that he was meeting the son of Heather Giles and proceeded to tell Andrew that he and other students had been in classes taught by Heather and would try their best to sign-up for other classes that she taught. The student's zeal to take a class from Heather Giles was not based upon the expectation of an easy class or an easy grade, but on the appreciation of an instructor who cared about her students, cultivated a strong learning environment and held them to high standards. assure you that Heather Giles has the drive, persistence, motivation and skills to excel at any position offered.
