In your research what were the conventions that you identified within the crime drama genre? How
did you plan for your crime drama keeping these in mind? What conventions did you try and use?
Do you think that you were successful in doing so?
Audience
What type of audiences watch different crime dramas? Why? Do you think that you were successful
in appealing to your target audience? Why/why not? What would you do in order to improve
audience appeal?
Institution
What types of crime dramas are shown on which channel and what time? Why? What channel and
time slot is most appropriate for your crime drama and why in order to reach your target audience?
Representation
How have you represented gender/ethnicity/age in your trailer? How does this affect your target
audience? Have you used stereotypes? (If so, why is it difficult to avoid using stereotypes?)
Overall, how successful do you think that your work is as a crime drama opening sequence? What
are the strengths and weaknesses of your finished sequence and what would you do differently next
time?

Mark Scheme
Level 6 evaluates the film by making convincing and critical connections between the experience
of carrying out the production and all of the key concepts. Responses show accuracy in spelling,
punctuation and grammar (9-10)
Level 5 successful evaluation that makes connections between the production and the key
concepts. Mainly good use of spelling, punctuation and grammar (7-8)
Level 4 discusses how some key concepts have informed the trailer. Some accurate spelling,
punctuation and grammar (5-6)
Level 3 largely descriptive but some key concepts may be addressed. Spelling, punctuation and
grammar is inaccurate (3-4)
Level 2 simply reviews the production (1-2)
