About Our School


Nipmuc Regional High School serves 651 students in the communities of Mendon and
Upton, Massachusetts. Driven by the core values of high expectations, respect, accountability,
and academics, Nipmucs students participate in a rigorous academic program. Focused
on developing 21st century skills through the application of learning, the school supports
students personal and academic growth to prepare them for success in college, careers, and
the community.

Connections to Colleges and Careers:
Nipmuc STEM Scholars Program
More than 100 students participate
in the Nipmuc STEM Scholars program,
connecting them to colleges, universities, and
STEM professions.
Students receive workplace readiness
training, participate in a STEM career
and college fair, connect with colleges
and universities, and participate in career
shadowing or internships.

Unique Opportunities:
Spanish Immersion
Students in Mendon-Upton Regional
Schools have the opportunity to participate
in the districts Spanish Immersion Program,
delivering instruction through Spanish as the
primary language beginning in kindergarten.

After receiving primary instruction in


Spanish during their elementary and middle
school years, Nipmuc students have the
chance to apply their learning in Advanced
Placement courses, school trips, and cultural
opportunities.
A Culture of High Achievement:
Advanced Placement
Nipmuc Regional offers sixteen Advanced
Placement courses across all disciplines.
66% of the members of the Class of 2014
took at least one Advanced Placement course
during their years at Nipmuc.
Greater than 50% of Nipmucs
upperclassmen participate in Advanced
Placement courses.
Nipmuc is the recipient of a grant from
Mass Insight Education supporting a 105%
increase in enrollment over the past five
years.
52 students achieved recognition as
AP Scholars in 2014, showing exceptional
performance across multiple AP tests.

Highlights of the
Academic Program
Innovation in Learning:
1:1 Learning Program
Nipmuc supports its curriculum,
instruction, and assessment through its 1:1
learning program in which all students use
iPads as an educational tool.
The program emphasizes the use of
technology as a way to communicate,
collaborate, and innovate in teaching and
learning.

Students annually display more than 1000


pieces of original art at the Nipmuc Fine Arts
Festival.
Students participate in a variety of musical
and performance groups including concert
band, wind ensemble, vocal ensemble, jazz
band, percussion ensemble, acappella, and
pep band.
