Once, dear listener, upon a time,

A man named Theodor loved to rhyme.

He began with drawings for the war,

And soon realized he could do so much more!

After many rejections, his first book appeared,

And millions of readers all stood up and cheered!

Fantastical animals, cats, fish and a sneetch,

Draw more, Mr. Geisel, the readers beseeched!

Like a who heard by Horton and a fox wearing socks,

Battles with butter and two things in a box!

He drew and wrote magical words that all rhymed,

And his titles, to the top of the lists they all climbed!

A nature-loving Lorax; kids hopping on pop,

Colorful counting fish, he just couldnt stop!

Oh, the things that he drew and his words how they sang,
Yertle, the Grinch and the rest of the gang!

Such memorable characters; such fun stories to read,

Horton and his egg and a Bippolo seed.

Green eggs with some ham; how youd look with duck feet,
If you owned a zoo and that Mulberry Street.

A wocket in your pocket and a book about sleep,

Titles long as a mile and some 50 fifty feet deep.

So from Daisy-Head Mayzie to Thidwick the Moose,

We honor the talent of the great Dr. Seuss!
