ffA Geoscientist

Background:
Foster Findlay Associates Limited (ffA) is an independent, world-leading innovator of automated
volume interpretation technology for the oil and gas industry. ffA provides both software and services
to a worldwide customer base of E & P companies. The ffA Services business is expanding rapidly
and a Geoscientist is required to work on ffA volume interpretation projects and provide technical
support and consultancy to ffA software customers and commercialisation partners. This will involve
developing high quality, accurate interpretations of 3D seismic data using ffA Technology. ffA
Services are provided from ffAs Aberdeen office but may involve working on-site at a client office
from time to time.
Principal Activities:
Provide geological / geophysical interpretation support to ffA Services projects
Ensure ffA Services projects are completed in accordance with contracts
Provide training and technical support to ffA software evaluators and commercialisation
partners
Provide on-site consultancy for integration of ffA Services results into clients workflows
Write and present high quality technical proposals
Provide advice and feedback based on testing and utilization of ffAs software to inform ffAs
software development process.

Relationships:
Reports to: Processing Manager
Collaborates with ffA Services staff on:
ffA workflow selection and application
QA / QC
Geological / geophysical Interpretation of ffA Services results
Review, presentation and delivery of results
Integration consultancy at client sites.

Location:
ffA Aberdeen office. UK and overseas travel will be required.

Qualifications and Experience:


Candidates should have a postgraduate qualification in an applied geoscience discipline.
Post-academic experience and working knowledge of Landmark, Schlumberger or SMT
interpretation systems. Volume interpretation experience is a distinct advantage. Good interpersonnel skills are required for interaction with ffA clients at both technical and commercial
levels.
