Introduction

1. Creating tables is a combersome job in LATEX. But, using

Open Office Calc we can create tables easily for LATEX.
2. What we need is the calc2latex macros. These are given as a
zip file and available in OpenOffice folder in TeX-programs
folder.
3. First unzip the file and keep the contents in a folder which
you can find easily later.
4. Then follow the following steps
First Open OpenOffice

Then click on Spreadsheet to open OpenOffice Calc

In Calc select Tools > Macros > Organize Macros >
OpenOffice.org Basic
When the above dialogue comes click on “Organizer”
In the above dialogue box click on the tab “Libraries”
In the above dialogue box click on “Import”
Please select the folder where you have kept the files after
unzipping calc2latex. If you select the folder properly then you will
see above two files. Then select the first one of the files and click
“Open”, then select second one and click “Open”.
P.S. The above screen shot is from Linux. In Windows it
looks a bit different!!
It is obvious. Select “Calc2LaTeX” and Click “OK”. In the next
screen select “Close” (screen shot not shown).
If everything is OK then you should see the above dialogue!!
You cannot see? Then Click on “My Macros”, select
“Calc2LaTeX” then the next screen appears.
You got it!! Then you are ready to use it.
Now prepare your table as shown in the figure and select the area!
Is there a need to teach it also ...
Now select Tools > Macros > Run Macro...
Hush!! The above figure is not correct.
In the dialogue box first select “Calc2LaTeX” in “My Macros” if
not already selected.
Then select “Main” in the “Macro Name” window. Then press
“Run”
Now select items as per your wish. If Table + Tabular is seleted
then give a label for the table, and caption of the table, location of
the table etc. and press “Convert”
You came up to here!! Your table is ready. Just Copy it (Ctrl + C)
and paste it (Ctrl + V) in TeXnicCenter (or whatever your editor
is)
