language, discuss, and create writing.

focusing on reading. Vocabulary is printed on the board for reference.

As a whole group we will read through and article about
Carly Rae Jepsens song Call Me Maybe.
Students will have an opportunity to discuss the article in small
groups and check discussion as whole group
Students will have the opportunity to listen to the music they
are reading, analyzing, and discussing about

The writing component of the class includes students writing a
parody. Students were given the opportunity to do a bit of
research on a song theyd like to create as a parody. Some
students may be given a song especially if theyre having a
difficult time writing.
The closure activity will be an exit slip where students will
respond to the essential question.

Notes

Students completed a project on Friday where they analyzed songs of


their choice and presented the lyrics, information, and examples of
figurative language to the class using google presentation.
Monday will be a new lesson for the students.
