Poverty is routinely defined as lack of

necessities of life that, are essential to sustain


a living such as food, shelter, housing and
other assets. The state in which diverse
resources lack and lead to physical
deprivation is known as poverty. In the state
of poverty a person, may live from hand to
mouth. Poor peoples way of living reveal
many bewildering factors that contribute in
making poverty perplexing , complex and a
multi-deminsional phenomeona. Poor people
are well aware of their horrendous
circumstances which include their voice, lack
of power and inferiority. These factors subject
them to torment and exploitation. Thus, the
poor suffer due to humiliation , rudeness and
violence done by the superior societies.
Inequality and poverty effect each other
directly and indirectly through their link with
economic growth. Poverty is also the most
moral salient issue linked with inequality.
Inequality influences our society because of
the way it concentrates resources,
advantages and power concerning with the

distribution of the necessities. The


inequalities that influence the society include:
race, gender, class and further inequalities in
wealth and income.
