Development refers to Qualitative

changes.(Progressive changes ).

MATURATION AND LEARNING

MATURATION PRINCIPLES

These are 7 principles of maturation and

describes each,thus:

1). Learning depends upon the biological

basis being present as well a the
opportunity to practice.
2). Cronological age and maturation age
although related are not synonymous.

3.) Although overall maturational development

is forward and continuous, the parent should
expect to see plateaus and regression in the
childs development.
4.) The more biologically mature a child is , the
easier for him to learn from a given task.

5.) The child usually gives signals

indicating maturational readiness for a
given task.
6.) The childs maturational development
progresses from general to specific
behavior.
7.) Training given after the maturation
readiness may be less efficient.

PRENATAL DEVELOPMENT

stages of prenatal
physical and behavioral
growth reveals several
important
development.
