Ammonia Estimation Method

Procedure: Take 100 ml sample. Add 1-2 drops of

phenopthalin indicator . keep the pH about 8.2 by
adding dilute acid or alkali. Light Pink colour appear
Take 1: 1 formalein , add phenopthalin indicator . Keep
the pH at about 8.2 by adding dilute alkali.light pink
colour appear.
Add 10 ml of this foemalein to sample. Pink colour
disappear.
Now titrate with N/10 NaOH until light pink colour
appear.(8.2 pH)
Note The N/10 alkali used for titrartion. Let it is X
