ASEPSIS
But before :
Scrubbing
1. Open disposble brush impregnated with antimicrobial
soap
2. Turn on the water
3. Wet hands and arms. Keep hands above elbows
4. Wet scrub brush or apply antibacterial soap if not already
impregnated in the brush
5. Scrub starting with fingertips, vigorously using vertical
strokes srub each area (nail, fingers each side and web
space, palmar, dorsal surface and forearm)
6. Rinse hands thoroughly under running water
7. Keep hands held upward to allow water to drip from the
hands to elbow
8. Dry hands with a sterile towel
Gowning
Gloving
1. Place a pair of gloves on a paper towel with the thumbs facing up.
Fold the bottom cuff up exposing the inside of the glove. Hands
should only touch the inside of the gloves.
2. Using your non-dominant hand, grab the folded cuff of the glove for
your dominant hand.
3. Pull the glove into your dominant hand only using the folded cuff
4. Slide your gloved hand under the cuff of the second glove
5. Pull the second glove onto your non-dominant hand

normal saline
