Ask students to gather around one table with green carpet square sitting in the
middle.
Present to them the following materials that will be used:
o Water bottle
o Ziploc of leaves.
o Glitter
o Toy bugs
o Sticks
Lay out toy bugs onto carpet. Ask students to imagine that the green square of
carpet is a square-meter of grass, and the home to all the bugs.
Inform students that you will be simulating weather patterns to example the
effects of haw different weather can affect the living environment for the bugs.
Ad each of the different items one by one demonstrating different forms of
weather on the grass.
Ask students how they think each weather has an impact on the ground, bugs
and environment the grass is in.
Assessment:
Summative
Teacher will use meter stick to measure each plot, to make sure
that the area is one square meter and the perimeter is 4 meters.
Students will be measured on the data they obtained with the
use of the materials.
Higher Order Thinking Skills:
Comprehension- Students will notice results due to the change of
weather throughout a period of time.
