Historical Fulfillment of 1260 year Prophecy - The woman fled into the
wilderness
In 538 A.D. Emperor Justinian's decree that Bishop of Rome was the absolute spiritual ruler over all

Christians and corrector of heretics, went into eect.

Faithful Christians who continued to cherish the truths revealed in Gods Word found the only way to

preserve their faith and existence was to flee. Rev. 12:6; Rev. 12:13;14

The Waldenses, Albigenses, Hugenots, and other faithful Christians, fled to the Alps in northern Italy

and southern France, hiding in secluded valleys, remote caves and high mountains. Revelation 12:15,16

Some historians estimate the figure as high as 50 million who suered death because they would not give

up the teachings of Jesus.

538 A.D -1260 days/years 1798 A.D

The era of compromise and persecution prophesied in Revelation 12 finally came to an end in 1798 when

the atheistic government of Napoleon sent General Berthier to take the Pope captive. This was exactly
1,260 years after the period of persecution began in 538 A.D.

The Remnants Identifying Characteristics

1. Arises after 1798
2. They keep the commandments of God, including the Sabbath command as God has given it.
3. They have the testimony of Jesus, which is the Spirit of prophecy, or the prophetic gift, in their midst.
4. Preaches the message of the Three Angels (Revelation 14) on a world-wide scale.
