Tu b'Shvat with the Guardians of the Holy Covenant, Panama City 2014 (with Omer

Yisrael)
Our holy organization, Guardians of Holy Covenant, was founded with the help of
Heaven 7 years ago thanks to the inspiration of many Jews that were concerned fo
r their brothers lest they stumble, Heaven forfend, into the awful pit of destru
ction, the worst sin in the Torah, wasting seed, and along with it, God protect
us, additional sins of non-Jewish women, adultery, nidah, and horrible things th
at had never been heard of, like the licentiousness of our generation.
Some Sephardic Jews with roots in Aleppo, Syria, have a special Hanukkah custom.
On each of the eight nights of the holiday, they light an extra flame. This cus
tom has been passed down in families whose ancestors were forced to flee Spain a
s refugees, when the Alhambra Decree of 1492 set in motion their expulsion for n
o other reason than their religious identity. Lighting the extra flame has becom
e a hallmark of these Jews; it represents their gratitude for the safety and tol
erance they encountered in their adopted homeland: Syria.
