There are places or environments that make one feel welcomed, happy, cheerful,
joyful, and gladsome. For some it can be at the comfort of their parents house, at the
crowded mall, in the buys cities, at a roaring stadium, or at packed concert. Although for
others these places have great significance to them, in respect I as a SDA member dont
rejoice in worldly positions. For me the place that I choose over any other place that
makes my heart feel in peace is at my SDA church which I attend every Saturday. Being
at church makes me feel overjoyed and perfectly content, because that is Gods sanctuary.
One of the many reasons church brings me joy is because I learn of the word of God
.Learning about the word of God makes me have more communion with Him and it
teaches me on how to live a good life with Him in my heart. Im glad that I study the
word of God because it helps me go through the difficult situations I go through in life. It
also teaches me on how to become a better person. When studying the word of God it
makes me want to share His words with others so they can learn it as well and feel that
they are not alone that God is always with them through everything.
What I have been taught I love to share it with my young students. In the mornings before
the sermon starts I teach a class of young children and I teach them the word of God in a
way they can understand. They astonish me on how fast they learn of the word of God.
Teaching them brings me great joy on how they want to hear the word of God at such an

early age. Passing the message on to the next generation is very important to me because
once they grow up they can spread Gods word just as I did.
When class is over we go to the church and there is a hymn that the church plays that
announces that the presents of God is entering the church and it overwhelms me with joy.
When the pastor starts to talk about the word of God I feel that God is talking to me
through his servant. When the sermon finishes I leave with great gratitude and
satisfaction. I share what I have been given from the pastor to my friends and when I see
them put the word of God in their lives it makes me very happy that they have accepted
God in their lives .When I remember what the pastor has preached I remember that God
wants well for me and I need a change in my life for my better being.
At church there are hymns that we sing to worship God. I love and feel at ease when I see
and hear everyone at church sing to God. There is one specific hymn that gives me hope
and strength to go forth in life. When I sing to God I dont put notice if I sing well or if I
sing badly. I know that God doesnt put into count if I touched the note wrong because it
matters to Him that I am worshipping Him with my heart.
At church I have found a family that I value that is very caring for all. When you do not
attend church they call and ask if you are doing well. If you are going through a difficult
time they tell the church to pray for you so God can help you pass the hard situation you
are in. I appreciate and feel blessed with the family I have found in church that God have
given me and others as well. If an emergency happens and I cant make it to my class to
teach my students another teacher in my department helps me and takes me students to
his/her class so they wont miss out on the lesson and the blessing they might receive.

Being in communion with God has made me grow as a person. As I attend church and
study the bible I notice I have become more mature and have grown more spiritually.
Now I see life in a different perspective, I used to see life as Just life but now it has
meaning. I see it as an opportunity to show my faith and love towards my Lord. God has
taken me out of the world for my own good and has placed me in church to become a son
of God. When being in communion with God, He has helped me see the struggles in my
life as strength to show my faith in Him.
What makes me a unique individual that the admissions people will want to invite me to
join their campus community is that I walk life not to serve myself but to serve God. I
take every experience as a learning experience good or bad. I take advantage of every
opportunity that I am given. As well as trying to succeed, even when odds are against me.
Striding for success and perfection are very important to me. Also reaching and going
above and beyond over my expectations of myself.
The reason why I chose church to be the place where I am overwhelmed with joy and at
peace with myself is because church is a sacred place where my Holy God dwells in and
where we all come to, to worship Him. Church means a lot to me because its my second
home; I go there to go meet my heavenly father. In my perspective church is like a
hospital you come in and God cures you from your physical and spiritual sickness and
transforms you into a new human being in Christ. God has helped me and I feel very
grateful that he has been on my side since day one without me knowing it.
