    Gandhi was the leader of Indian nationalism and known later as Mahatma which means great soul, he was one of the greatest national leaders of the twentieth century. Gandhi was heavily influenced by the Hinduism and Jainism religions, which his mom was interested with. He protested against the British monopoly on salt. This was called the Civil Disobedience. This took place during the late 1800's through the early early 1900's.
