two categories. Select an artist from the category that
most interests you. Research this artist, addressing the
categories listed on the attached page.

Step 2- Complete research about your artist. Follow the


guideline below.
Step 3- Complete your poster following the design directions.
Include the following in your project:
Content
1. One Section that is biographic. Include where they are from, born,
significant contribution to art, etc.
2. One section about the style they work in (e.g. DaliSurrealism).
Describe this style or period of art.
3. 5 works by the artist. This may be pictures you create or photographs.
Include the title, media, and date.
4. Quotes from the artist, or something that has been written about them.
5. One or more relevant event in their life that significantly changed or
impacted it.
Design
1. Utilize the style of the artist in the layout. This may include: colors, pattern,
imagery, and symbols. Students may include found imagery or original
artwork.
2. You may pick motifs popular in the artists work.
3. Divide the paper up in sections. You can use panels, shapes, or objects
found in the artists work. You may also approach it like a comic strip.
4. Use color and text.
5. Use 18 x 24 paper.

scale of 1-4, with 4 being the highest.
