Passion of The Christ Reflection

1. When Jesus prayed, the devil was there. What did the devil say to Jesus? What is
the purpose of saying it?
2. When Jesus was about to finish His prayer, He stepped on the snakes head.
What does it mean? You may relate it with the scene right after Jesus died on the
cross and the book of Genesis.
3. Judas was one of Jesus disciples, but why did he betray Jesus?
4. Did Jesus make a mistake when He chose Judas as His disciple? What can you
learn from this?
5. How many trials did Jesus have to undergo? What is the importance of having
those trials?
6. Why should Jesus be tortured, humiliated and rejected before being crucified?
7. Which of the party should be responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus? The Roman
soldiers or the Pharisee leaders?
8. Was Jesus ready to take the punishment and crucifixion before hand? Verify.
Answer:

1. Who is your father? and Who are you? Devil said that because he wants to tempt
Jesus. Jesus stepped on the head of the snake, so He can kill it. I think the meaning that
action is to drive the devil away.
2. The symbol that they had no authority to Him.
3. He always thinks of money. He sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver coins. Its not
worthy. Jesus didnt make mistake when choosing Judas as His disciple. He knows that
Judas will betray Him. From this action, I can learn that we need to forgive other. Like
Jesus forgives Judas. He knows that Judas will betray him, but He still chose Judas as His
disciple.
4. Of course not. Jesus never made any mistake in choosing His disciples, but the one that
made a mistake is Judas. He betrays Gods trust. Jesus chose Judas as His disciples
because it was a gods plan. God always trust people that believe in Him, so He never
underestimates someone that believe in Him. Even though Judas betrays Him, Jesus still
loves him like His love to His own son. Jesus never forces people to follow Him; the

decision to follow Him is in our own hand. If we dont want to follow Him, He wont
angry to us. If we believe in Gods way, God will have protected us in our life.
5. 3 trials. It is important to make Jesus not be tempted by the devil.
6. Because people dont believe that He was the messiah. Thats why people want him to be
tortured before he crucified to fulfill peoples wishes. People think that Jesus was lying
about it, thats why they make fun of Him and make Him suffered.
7. Both of them should be blame for it because they were the one that make it happen. The
Pharisees leader want Jesus to be crucified, but if the roman soldier dont do it, then Jesus
will not been crucified because they never want to do such a thing with their own bare
hands, they want people to do their sins.
8. Of course yes because Jesus believe that all that happens to Him belongs to God.
