ABSTRACT

In most of the Engineering colleges, the trainer kit has the provision of programming that
is performed with the help of keyboard and uses a visual display unit. It is provided with the
facility to use Add-On cards. But this kit is less user friendly and the programming is a
complicated process as it involves the proper allocation of the address lines. There is no control
of a PC over the kit and no particular software is used to write the program. It employs kernel
programming technique. But above all, it lacks the portability as far as the program transfer to a
microcontroller is concerned.
Keeping these problems in mind, we designed and developed a kit, christened AllIn
One kit. It has been named so since it can act as a burner as well as a trainer kit.
It overpowers the normal trainer kit since in AIO kit, the program can be transferred to a
microcontroller through flash programming, and using PC based software. The program can be
written with the help of any of the simulation softwares and can be tested using the Add-On
cards. Any number of Add-On cards can be added. Thus, it is very much user friendly and
flexible. These features give the AIO kit an edge over the normal trainer kit.
The microcontroller programmed using AIO kit can be used in various circuits, which
resembles the characteristics of a normal burner kit. The greatest feature that it exhibits is the
HEX code in the microcontroller can be converted to Assembly code, which is not provided by
any of the other burning softwares available in the market.
Thus, our AIO kit is a step ahead of the normal burner kit and the normal trainer kit.
