Job Descriptions

Operator/Owner
- This individual will be held responsible for the following yearly,
monthly, weekly, and day-to-day activities:
o Create and update the vision and mission of the record label yearly
o Determine the direction the company will travel through the
entertainment industry by regulating the type of artist that the
company signs and represents yearly and monthly
o Complete day-to-day operations accounting, administrative
tasks, marketing, public relations, human resources, and media
production day-to-day
Secretary
- This individual will held responsible for the following business
activities:
o Perform clerical duties filing, typing, and copying documents
o Director of all telecommunications screen and transfer calls,
create and save messages, schedule and prepare the workspace
for meetings, and handle any travel accommodations
o Track and restore office supplies inventory
- This individual will need to meet the following requirements to be hired
for the position:
o At least a high school diploma with 1+ years of previous
administrative or customer service related work
o Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and
procedures within a particular field
o Be able to use script based communication and follow preestablished guidelines
- Artist
o This individual has to be someone with the talent to produce a
steady stream of income to maintain business operations
o The type of artist that the record label will depend on will
continuously vary, but the operator may also limit the scope of
what types of artists are acceptable to partner with
Human Resources
- Sexual harassment in the workplace will not be tolerated; this will be
considered a zero-tolerance policy. The result of any confirmed sexual
harassment will result in immediate dismissal of the employee
committing the foul.
Legal Structure

The record label will be structured as a sole proprietorship. Once the


business has increased its revenues to the point that the owner is
considered to be in the highest tax bracket the business will then be
structure as a corporate to save on tax liabilities.

Insurance

Professional and General Liability Coverage will be purchased from


Hiscox Business Insurance to shield the business and owner from
issues of liability.

Capital and Equipment

The following capital and equipment will be allocated for use within the
record label:
o Two MAC computers (will increase as profits and employees
increase)
o Music recording and editing software
o Sound booth and microphones
o Phone system
o Cell Phones
o Laser Color Printer
o Company Vehicle

Salary and Wages


-

CEO/Owner: Salary - $35,000/year; Profit Sharing 33% of company


profits paid into retirement fund at the end of fiscal year, not to exceed
maximum contribution limit
Secretary: Salary - $35,000/year

Advertising and Marketing Expenses


-

Initial marketing will take place on social media websites: Twitter,


Facebook, and Instagram. iTunes will also be used to promote and sell
products as well as services; this service is free to start and the
company will not use an aggregator. The amount budgeted to
marketing will increase based on the profits of the company over the
first five years of operation.

The following expenses will need to be covered on a monthly basis:


o Electric: $350
o Internet: $150
o Liability Insurance: $67.50
o Utilities: $50
o Salaries: $5,834

Other Expenses

2nd Year: Travel - $6,000; Meals - $1,200; Lodging: $3,000
