3. Enough materials for one year.
4. Regular meetings with teachers. At least 3 per semester with many one-to-one
sessions with the adjunct faculty members.
5. Well trained full-time faculty members fully equipped to teach eng 101.

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT

1. Student intake is not meant for eng 101 need a pre-university course with
grooming component integrated.
2. Classes too large.
3. No TAs for teachers.
4. Heterogeneous class, hence it is needed that all students are interviewed and
grouped according to similar ability/proficiency level right after their admission into
IUB is confirmed.
5. Sound systems are not adequate or are outdated.
6. Classroom projectors are blurry. The remote control for projectors remains with
floor guards who are difficult to find if the system is disrupted/turned off due to
power outage or use of white board for teaching.
7. Often adjunct faculty members are not trained or qualified to teach a crucial
language course like eng 101. Therefore, adjunct training and pooling is required.
8. Language lab needs to be opened and available for use immediately. The lab
needs carpeting in order to accommodate large groups of students.
