The path-goal
leadership theory depicts that it affects the job-satisfaction and performance of the followers of a
leader. The leaders with this approach set objectives for the employees and define a clear path for
achieving those objectives. The leaders support their employees in ambiguous situations. Also
motivate them to perform the job in an effective manner.
I suggest that this is more important than being a situational leader, if you are following some
path and have already planned the things then you can resolve any situation easily.
This effective leader I have observed is not always stuck to same approach rather he transforms
his role according to the situation.
Sometimes its the case that effective leaders also lose their way. In spite of efforts the leader is
not able to know how much influence he has and how his actions are affecting his followers. The
ineffective leader which I come across has following traits:
