1. Writing web pages are not like writing printed documents because people
read Web pages in a different way.
2. There are 10 tips considering when writing a new web page or editing an
existing one which are the following: 1; Think about who youre writing for, 2;
Dont start with a long welcome intro, saying what the page is for. 3; Dont
assume that everyone reading your web site will have an enormous screen or
a fast internet connection, 4; Keep paragraphs short and columns narrow, 5;
Line spacing of 1.5 or 2 is good, 6; Never use blue or underlined text, 7; Stick
to the various convention, such as a click on your main logo taking readers to
the home page, 8; Dont arrange text in columns such that the reader has to
scroll the screen up and down, 9; Dont waste too much above-the-fold (the
area of the screen that can be read without scrolling) with waffle or large
pictures, and 10; Check the spelling of your pages, but dont rely solely on
any automatic spelling checker.
3. Hyperlink is a normal blue and underlined words which entitle your visitors to
click the on to move to another page or another site.
4. The destination of your hyperlink doesnt have to be limited to pages on your
own site. You can create links to other places.
5. The two rules that will help your make sense of html coding are as followed:
an html file contains a mixture of pages content ( ie, the words on the page)
and formatting commands, and HTML tags generally occur in pairs.
6. The two most important tags are <head> tag and ends with </head>.
7. Mega tags are a way for a web page to supply information about itself to the
web browser that is displaying the page.
8. The best known HTML validator is run by the World Wide Web Consortium
(WWWC, or W3C for short).
9. Some things that you should do to ensure that your site is accessible are:
Provide alternative ALT text for every picture or image that you use, Dont
create information which cant be understood by those who cant see colors
properly. Eg, Click the red box rather than the green one in order to browse
our brochure will be of little use to someone whos color-blind.
10.Cascading Style Sheets is a new revision of the HTML language (and a new
generation of web browsers that were capable of displaying pages created
with it).
