startingIVs,usedefibrillatorstogivelifesavingshockstoastoppedheart,andadministersome
typesofmedication.
3ParamedicTheycandoevenmorecomplicatedmedicalprocedures,suchasperforming
minorinvasiveprocedurestoopenapatientsairway.Theycanalsoadministerawiderrangeof
medicationandinterpretxrays,CATscans,EKGreadings,andlabtestresults.
