Welcome to second semester!

I received my Bachelors Degree in Nutrition last year and am currently working on my
Masters Degree in Education at the University of Arizona through the Teach Arizona
Program. I am very excited to start my career as a teacher and look forward to the new
semester!
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns and I will respond
within 24 hours. Appointments can be made on an individual basis.

Classroom Rules
1. When you enter the room, never touch anything that may be on the lab table.
2. Do not disrupt this class or you will be removed from it.
3. In addition to learning science, students will also focus on organizational and
study skills that will aid them in becoming better students now and in the future.
4. Students and parents are expected to check Parent Portal weekly.

Procedures
1. A student will receive a 0% grade for
work not turned in within a week of
the due date.
2. Late work will be given a lower grade
unless lateness is due to student
illness or excused absence. The
grade will drop by one letter grade
each day it is late.
3. Students will be in their seats working
on bellwork when the bell rings or will
be marked tardy.
4. Clipboards in the front of the room
contain materials that are handed out
in class. Help yourself to anything
you are missing.

New this semester-Bellwork!


When students walk into the classroom, there will be a bellwork prompt up on the Smart
Board. Students are expected to be seated and working on the prompt when the bell
rings. The bellwork will be graded during the regular Notebook Inspections.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:
Read over the expectation sheet with your parents and have them sign the attached
sheet. Return this signed sheet to Ms. Surber by January 11th, 2016. Keep the
previous page in the front of your notebook.
