Q.5 Do you think that the role of a family has

changed?

Suresh Arora-Yes, the role of the family has changed. Joint

and Nuclear families both have its advantages and
disadvantages but a nuclear family has more disadvantages
than a joint one. According to him the family culture or
sanskaar as we call it in Hindi is missing in a nuclear

family. The close support and extra help and care in every
task are not received. Even the affection received from all is
not present in a nuclear family.
Shreya Rupani Yes, the role of family life has changed. At
our time, people used to spend a lot of time together but
nowadays families do not spend a lot of time together
because they are busy in their set, sedentary lifestyles.
Minal Shah -Yes, the role of family life has changed because
nowadays people spend a lot of their time indoors and earlier
the families used play games and enjoys a lot outdoors which
is not possible now considering the busy schedules of the
each person in the family.
Rajesh Mehta No. The role of family life has not changed
because according to him everything is same in his family
and there are not much significant changes in the family
custom.
Indira SharmaYes, the role of family life has changed.
According to her, the children of the present age are given
more freedom of choice as compared to their generation.

Alka Malhotra - Yes, the role of family in ones life has

definitely changed. Due to time constraints the conversations
that happen at the table during lunches and dinners are
decreasing. As we are running in the rat race to earn money
and fame that we forget to set aside some time for our family.

To earn more they need to obviously work more which

reduces the hours one is there at home. Also because of this
the children mind gets diverted and they don't feel that
sharing everything with a parent is important. It doesn't
really matter to them as they're parents are working and
don't have time for them so they get full freedom of doing
whatever they want to.
Prakash Mistry - Yes, the role of family life has changed as
nowadays children speak very freely to their parents and
openly share their personal problems and ideas; whereas the
children of their times had a constant fear of their parents
and were afraid to tell them anything as they thought they
would get a beating or shouting in exchange.
Reyna Rupani The role of family has changes and hasnt
changed because she thinks it really depends on each
individual of the family of how smoothly the relationship
between the family members runs.
Kunal Rupani Yes, the role of family life changed through
the generations because there is a great technology
advancement and betterment in the quality of life.
Teenagers now understand life more because they have more
knowledge due to the advanced schooling and the one to one
attention of the teachers to each student.
Mala Alone Yes, the role of family life has changed as
earlier joint families were preferred more than nuclear
families and everyone was not given much attention due to
the excess number of family members.
