Areas of strength:
I have become better at communicating with the patient and assessing the patient and their needs. I can
efficiently perform ADLs for the patient and take their vitals. I have become more comfortable in the role of
being the nurse and taking care of the patients needs. I was able to bring what I learned in the classroom and
complete it in the clinical setting. I was also able to adapt to the differences of performing a skill on a
mannequin to performing it on a real patient.
Per Instructor:
Demonstrated progressive growth in levels of thinking, delivery of care, therapeutic communication, and patient safety. Demonstrated growth in
preplanning skills, in time management, and in critical thinking and in linking pathophysiology. Quickly managed care of the patients.
Demonstrated quality, compassionate care. Sought learning experiences when not directly involved with care of her assigned patient.

Areas for growth:

Being comfortable performing new skills. I also need to become more proficient at finding a balance of the
patients needs and what they want. It was sometimes challenging for me to tell them that they needed to do
something because it was necessary for their health.
Per Instructor:
Is very willing to perform new tasks; is developing confidence. Is seeing the big picture, and looking for the details. Needs to mentally prepare for
challenges in medical-surgical care vs. rehab care.

Skills performed (if applicable):

-Wound care dressing change
-Blood glucose levels taken
-Insulin shot
Learned assessment skills, hygiene skills, fed/transferred patients.
Personal note from Prof. Renalds:
Casey, it has been delightful watching you blossom! How fun to watch the Ah-ha moments light your eyes, as you developed understanding of
relationships of pharn/patho/dx! You are progressing nicelymy best for the next semester. I wish you the best!!
