Libraries Transform
Why
Libraries are
Transforming
Today's public
libraries are dynamic.
Always changing,
adapting and
transforming to meet
the needs of their
communities. And
so it is at the StowMunroe Falls Public
Library. The American
Library Association has
organized a campaign
highlighting the
transitional nature of
libraries across our
nation. We celebrate
our changes with
them.

THE 33

BRIDGING THE
DIGITAL DIVIDE:
The digital divide is real.
Libraries transform to
play an essential role
in bridging the divide
and not just through
access. According to
Pew Research, 63% of
newcomers feel theyd
need some assistance in
learning how to use the
internet.
INFORMATION IS
GROWING AT A
BREAKNECK PACE:
According to Eric
Schmidt of Google,
every two days now the
human race creates as
much information as
we did from the dawn
of civilization until
2003. That's about five
exobytes of data a day.
Libraries transform to
help people cope in the
digital age.
