Comments:
Adult Ed Proposal
strengths:
-clearly states the improvement of using this grant for adults needing the extra
help for employment
-great job explaining data found in local area
-goals were easy to read and well defined
weaknesses:
-unclear on exact computer center training in title
-did not describe who will teach the classes in the description
-description needs more details about the classes and how they will be taught
-need more descriptive budget, don't use miscellaneous, say exact supplies you
will use it for
-include questions that will be on the survey

LEAP
strengths:
-spirit of title is great! I wanted to almost chant it out loud
-budget is the best descriptive part in this proposal

ECOMP 6101 Technology: Impact on Society and Schools

weaknesses:
-I didn't quite know what I was going to read about with just reading the title
-proposal does not state the method as to how you will build these presentation
skills
-there is no state of art
-no evidence of need in a specific location. All evidence is from different places
-never states the location where this will be implemented
-goals are extremely broad
-objectives don't fit/make sense for the goals they follow
-project description is wordy and has information not needed
-no description on how this will actually be implemented was given
Plants
strengths:
-title makes me want to read more, very intriguing
-proposal was to the point and only included information that was needed
-goals are easy to follow
-activities clearly show how goals will be met
-well thought out description, includes key details in a prompt manner
-easy to follow timeline
-great job remembering to add substitutes into the budget
weaknesses:
-no state-of-art
Presentation
strengths:
-great title! Explains the whole concept of the proposal
-proposal is clearly stated and includes only necessary material
-shows a great need for the program
-great project description. I could really follow along with the process of the
project
-timeline shows key components of the project
-extremely detailed budget
-consistent feedback throughout the year is great!
weaknesses:
-doesn't clearly state the state-of-art
-activities could be a little more detailed

Student Writing
strengths:
-title is very strong. Gives a great preview of proposal
-great description on data from previous years

ECOMP 6101 Technology: Impact on Society and Schools

-great use of multiple activities for each goal
-outline shows all key components in a detailed manner
weaknesses:
-needs a lot more information in the proposal concept. Not enough information is
given to fully understand the concept.
-too many quotes given in problem statement. Hard to keep a flow of reading
when scrambling from quote to quote
-description is a little wordy
-shouldn't wait until the end to evaluate need to have some type of evaluation
throughout
Walkers
strengths:
-title says it all!
-proposal concepts include all needed information
-good amount of statistics given in the need statement, not too lengthy
-description was well written. Shows a lot of planning has already occurred
-lots of great ideas for evaluation
weaknesses:
-proposal concepts could give a little extra information
-could include more goals
-already donated items was a little confusing on the budget. Maybe group these
together or don't list them
Essay:
I would choose to fund the Presentation Proposal and the Walkers Proposal. The
Presentation Proposal, or P.R.O.M.O.T.E, included all of the key parts needed for a great
proposal. The idea of having high school students learn about technology and learn how to
promote themselves is wonderful. There are a lot of job opportunities out there and lots of
individuals trying to take them. Knowing how to promote yourself and what you can do will help
these students have a step up on their competition. The proposal showed a great need for this
type of help for high school students. It was also well thought out and if I was funding the project
I would know exactly where the money was going. The budget was extremely detailed and
thought out.
The Walkers Proposal was also a great project. The need is not only at the Filer
Elementary School but all over the United States. The statistics they used were spot on and eye
opening. Their ideas to get students to learn the basics of being healthy will help parents
understand the importance of being healthy as well. I would fund this in hopes that other schools
would see how wonderful this is and would follow suit. The evaluation process was nicely
written. It will help them show the progress throughout the whole year and will give feedback on
what they might need to change or what it working well.
