Classroom Requirements for

Technical Training Course

This document represents the classroom requirements for
running a technical training course

General requirements
Environmental Requirements

Comfortable chairs and tables

Whiteboard with markers and eraser

Lighting system suitable for presentations and at the same time for making notes

Adjustable shades on the windows

Air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems to ensure comfortable room temperature

Audibility appropriate for making presentations, without distracting sounds and noise, and
with audio equipment if needed

Technical Requirements

The class should have at least one computer per student and one additional server

All classroom machines must be connected into the network and have access to the Internet,
and the traffic should not be scanned for viruses at the gateway

Also, 2 additional Internet connection points (Ethernet or wireless) should be available

The local network infrastructure should allow using at least (number of students) x 6 different
IP addresses at the same time and should not block connections from behind the VMware
NAT

Video projector with appropriate screen at front of the classroom must be available

System Requirements
Hardware Requirements
Each student and the server should fir the following hardware requirements:

Minimum

AMD64 or EM64T processor supporting hardware virtualization;

8 GB RAM

Fast HDD drive with at least 100 GB of free space

Monitor and video adapter that support at least 1280x1024

USB port

100 Mbit Ethernet Card of Wi-Fi adapter

Recommended

4 core AMD64 or EM64T processor supporting hardware virtualization;

16 GB RAM

SSD or HDD RAID (RAID 0 or any other speed oriented setup) with at least 200 GB of free
space

Monitor and video adapter that support at least 1680x1050 or 2 monitors each supporting at
least 1280x1024

USB port

1 Gbit Ethernet Card of Wi-Fi adapter

Software requirements
All computers should run one of the 64-bit Windows operating systems and have the following
software installed:

VMware Workstation 9

Acrobat Reader latest version

No other software (especially endpoint protection software) must be installed on the classroom PCs.
