THE BRIEF
It is imperative as a musician to be able to improvise with other musicians and respond to a range of stimuli and source material in order to
be able to work in a variety of places in the music industry.
As preparation for the project we will look at variety of genres and improvising styles within them. You will research and produce a report
(written, audio or visual) on the elements of improvisation for 3 different musical styles (Unit 12 GC1).
Using these conventions and source material which you will use as reference during rehearsals (Unit 12 GC2) you will develop
dimprovisational techniques that can be used during your improvisation showcase. (Unit 12, GC3, GC4 ).

publicly licensed professional environment in which you are effectively an intern being given the opportunity to publicly test your skills and
