ICT Students to also make sure their laptops and IPads are
logged on and ready to go as soon as the lesson starts.
Depending on the lesson course of the lesson students may
have some time to start researching summative task.
Students may have to get them out of storage. In which
case, two students will be selected to go and retrieve the ICT
out of storage.
Whole class to sit on the floor once Laptop task is completed,
teacher to use the 5L (Legs, Lap, Lips, Look and Listen)
strategy to obtain maximum student attention.
Teacher to discuss and ask questions to students about what
they learned last lesson.

duration of lesson remaining slides starting at slide
3 Corroboree & Ceremonies)

Students to stay on the floor for class discussion on
Indigenous celebrations
Watch Corroboree video again. Slide 2
Students to discuss their own thoughts about the video and
the reading (PP Slide 3). Discuss what is meant by such
statements as only a small few are allowed to participate in
sacred dances? Students are encouraged to lead the class
discussion under the guidance of the teacher.

Use the PowerPoint presentation (slides 4-6) and hand out a

copy of the task to each student.
Talk through the task
Make sure everyone understands they can pick a topic from
the list (PP slide 5) of their choice.
Read through PP Slides 7-10 - Beltane Fire Festival, utilize

comprehension questions, and link it back to requirements of

the summative assessment. Slide 10 is designed as an
example for what to research in preparation for any Q & A
questions exploring any key terminology. Talk through Rubric!

PP Slide 5 List of Celebrations to research

To avoid 10 students picking a popular topic, teaching
strategy will be to ask for interest and limit each topic to a
maximum of two students.
Choosing
Topic

Once chosen, students can start quiet research on their

laptops.
Teacher should take opportunity to demonstrate researching
on Google by making sure they write their chosen holiday
then add for kids at the end of it. For example Chinese New
Year for kids.
