person.Racismissoseriousthatevenobama
saysRacismisreal.Whitepolicemanshota
unarmedblackmanandhischieftrainedhimto
dothat.Alocalgrandjurysaidthathewoulddo
thesame.Ithinkthisisveryracistbecausewhy
wouldyoushootandkillablackguyforno
reason.ALotofblackandothercoloredpeoplestillreceivesecondclass
treatment.Peoplestilldiscriminateagainstmydadjustbecauseheis
black.Policeshootandkillblackstwiceasmuchasanyotherracial
group.Localpolicehavebeengrowingandthereasonispentagonandus
depofjusticedecidedtogiveawaysurplusweaponryfromiraq,afghanistan
mostweaponsfoundthereareallheavyweaponrytheseweaponsare
usedbyswatindrugraids.Theychargethemasmakingamistakeand
thereareveryfewconsequencesfaced.

InsomervilleMA,negativenegativefeelingsaboutthepolice.Ateenwent
fromhatingpolicewithallhiswilltoworkingcooperativelywiththem.Ateen
hatedthepoliceandsodidhisfriendsandtheotherteensinhis
community.Howeverthemorehimandhisfriends
talkedandhungoutthethedeeperthefeelingabout
police.Alsotheywouldstartunprovokedarguments
withofficersandheldupnegativesignsbecauseof
thistheofficersknewhimbyhisnameandnegative
hesaidthathewasonlyexpressinghisfeelingand
hisrights.Ontheotherhand,thewhitepeoplethatlivednearbyhated
blacksbecauseofthenegativesignsandattitude.Consequently,he
startedrealizingthattherewasotherwaystogetattentionwithoutbeing
knowninanegativeway.ThenTeenempowermentfoundhimandwentto
hisschoolandgavejobopportunitiestopeoplewhowantedtochange.He
instantlywasinterestedinitandjoinedthismeans.Theprograminvolveda
lotofpolicecommunicationatfirsthedidnotwanttobutlaterhestarted
likingitandthisiswhenhecouldtalk1on1withpoliceandtellthemthere
problemwithpolice.Finally,theystartedlisteningtohistipsandstarted
improving.

Stand against racism on campus

Thisstartedbecauseofmanydifferentreasonsblacklivesmatter,Michael
brown'sshootingdeaththeblackstudentsattheuniversity
ofmissourihaveamassivehateontheschoolpresidenthis
nameistimwolf.Astudentwhoisonahungerstriketo
protest.Afteraspateofracialincidents.Theyalsofelt
offendedbywhathesaidathespeechhesaidtonedeath
thishappenedatacloseddoormeetingwithstudents.The
presidenttoldtheteachersandadminstofailthe
students.Inthepastyeektheseproblemshavebeencomeingupinother

colleges.Over300blackstudentsfromsurroundingcollegesattended
mahmoodelkatilcectore,namedafterblackprofecoranditisaspeach.He
talkedaboutseveralthingsfromcivilrighttoblacklivesmatter.Schoolsand
collegesarestilltryingtosolvethisracismproblem.Mostcollegesarestil
tryingtounderstandthehistoryofblacksinschoolandoutofschoolthisis
notonlyinamericaitisalsoglobal.Thefootballteamthatstartedthisisstill
tryingtofightagainstraceism.

lotsofwaysofpreventingracism,forexamplelearn
moreaboutthecontributionspeoplefromdifferentracial
groupsandseeifthereracialgrouphelpeddevelope
yourcountry.Visitmanyplaceswheretherearemany
differentracialgroupsandunderstandwhatyoumay
haveincommonwiththosewhoareofadifferentracial
group.Forgivethemiftheyhurtyouoryourfriendsand
racialgroupandtrytoharder
understand.Speakoutwhenraciallymotivatedhatecrimestake
place.SharestoriesofdiscriminationandracismwithStopHate,sowecan
helppeopleunderstandtherealcostofhate.Andtohelpracismyoudonot
havetodoallthesethingsonebyonethesearejusthelpingguidlines
anotherthingthatwillhelpfrompreventingracismisbyusingcommon
sensedonotsaysomethingknowingthatthepersonhasabadhistorywith
it.
