Excellent - ePortfolio clearly demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of educational theory and research relating to
educational technology, supported by key references to relevant research and literature.
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio demonstrates good understanding of some educational theories and research relating to
educational technology, and includes a basic understanding of the key concepts. Some references are included.
Does Not Meet/Missing - ePortfolio does not demonstrate an understanding of educational theory and practice. No supporting
references are provided.

2. Theoretical Foundations: Does ePortfolio demonstrate knowledge of interaction between technology and
educational theories and practice?
Excellent - ePortfolio clearly demonstrates an understanding of how technology interacts with educational theories and practice.
Demonstrates an ability to apply educational theories to using technology in educational practice.
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio demonstrates a basic understanding of how technology and educational theories interact, and
how technology can be used in educational practice.
Does Not Meet/Missing - ePortfolio does not demonstrate an understanding of the connection between technology, educational
theories, and educational practice.

3. Reflection and Analysis: Does ePortfolio demonstrate a narrative of learning over time through reflection
and a linking metaphor?
Excellent - ePortfolio clearly develops and supports a narrative of learning that occurred throughout the MET program. The
narrative is supported in each segment of the ePortfolio with reflective writing and linked by strong overarching metaphor.
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio shows development of a basic narrative of learning. Support for this narrative is apparent, with
some reflection and linking by an overarching metaphor.
Not Meeting/or Missing - ePortfolio does not provide a learning narrative. Individual pieces seem disconnected and do not show
reflective thinking. Overarching metaphor is missing.

4. Reflection and Analysis: Does ePortfolio provide a synthesis of experience with a variety of carefully
curated artifacts, along with related reflections on learning?
Excellent - ePortfolio provides excellent synthesis of experience and includes a variety carefully curated artifacts (academic
papers, multimedia projects, websites, or other). The synthesis includes deep reflection connecting back to learning narrative.
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio provides good synthesis of learning experience and some relevant artifacts (academic papers,
multimedia projects, websites, or other). The synthesis includes some reflection connecting back to learning narrative.
Not Meeting/or Missing - ePortfolio does not provide a synthesis of learning experience, nor does it provide reflection on
included artifacts (academic papers, multimedia projects, websites, or other). The reflection is superficial and does not seem
connected to learning narrative.

5. Format and Structure: Is the quality of design evident and does it support easy navigation throughout the
site?
Excellent - ePortfolio design is unique, aesthetically pleasing, and demonstrates strong web and graphic design skills. The
structure of the ePortfolio is intuitive and easy to navigate.
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio design is generally aesthetically pleasing, and the interface allows for simple navigation of the
components.
Not Meeting/or Missing - ePortfolio design contains many flaws, broken links, and/or won't load. Design is poor and is difficult to
navigate.

6. Format and Structure - Does the ePortfolio show quality and clarity of written, audio, and visual
communication elements?
Excellent - ePortfolio contains all communication elements that demonstrate professionalism, mastery of relevant vocabulary
and of the medium chosen. A variety of communication mediums are used. Writing quality is excellent with quality conventions
(spelling, grammar, punctuation).
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio contains communication elements that are well-edited, and do not contain errors. Writing quality
is good with few or no errors.
Not Meeting/or Missing - ePortfolio contains communication elements that are not well-edited. There are many errors present,
and there is a lack of variation in the formats. Writing quality is poor.

7. Community Links: ePortfolio demonstrates links to broader educational community and to current
teaching practice.
Excellent - ePortfolio includes links and or references to communities within education, along with educator sites of discussion
and information. Links are carefully chosen, and rationale for each connection is explicit; there is evidence of give and take
between the student and the teaching community (correspondence, email, interactive sites, social media, recommended
educator websites, etc.)
Good/Satisfactory - ePortfolio contains some links to community of professional practice. Some links are included and rationale
for connections is good. There is some evidence of give and take between the student and the educational community.
Not Meeting/or Missing - ePortfolio does not contain or has only few or no links to community of professional practice. Little or
no evidence of on-going dialogue between student and educational community.

8. Technology: Does the ePortfolio serve as a reference to creator and other educators for useful
technology recommended links and resources?
