Copy-cats 4, Synergy PERFORMANCE NOTES: Snare drum one should be tuned somewhat higher in pitch than snare drum two, ‘The notation for rolls is a wavy line - placed horizontally above the rolled notes, ‘An X-shaped notehead indicates to play on the rim. ‘Annotehead with a slash through it indicates rim shot. ‘To emphasize dynamic changes, and to produce variety in timbre, beating spots on the batter-head should be related to dynamics in such a way so that FFF will be approximately at the center - while ppp will be near the edge of the head. ‘Highth note equals eighth note unless otherwise specified, All accented notes in movement 1 - Allegro Risoluto - are to be played as flams. Al the rolls beginning at measure 13 in movement 4 - Synergy - are short, accented, one or ‘two-handed press rolls, with « diminuendo. The flam which immediately follows each roll must be the general dynamic level of the ongoing passage. ‘*Suggested setup - so as not to obscure performance movements from the audience behind music stands, performers should setup facing each other with the audience off to their side.
