1. A cylinder of propane gas at 20C exerted a pressure of 8.5

atmospheres. When exposed to sunlight it warmed up to 28C. What
pressure does the container side now experience?
2. 25 cm3 of a gas at 1.01 atm. at 25C was compressed to 15 cm3
at 35C.
Calculate the final pressure of the gas.
3. The pressure exerted by a gas in sealed container is 100kPa at
17C. It was found that the container might leak if the internal
pressure exceeds 120kPa. Assuming constant volume, at what
temperature in C will the container start to leak?
4. A balloon is blown up at night when the temperature is 8C to a
volume 0.018m3. Next afternoon, the temperature is 28 C. If there
is no change in air pressure, what is the new volume of the gas?
5. A sealed syringe contains 10x 10-6 m3 of air at 1x 105 Pa. The
plunger is pushed until the volume of trapped air is 4x 10-6m3. If
there is no change in temperature what is the new pressure of the
gas?
