(Brooksville, FL) at approximately 4:19 p.m. today, Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR)
responded to the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport for a reported plane crash.
First on scene was the HCFR Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF)) unit. The aircraft was found
to have landed on the airport property. Once the plane had landed, the aircrafts landing gear had
failed and subsequently collapsed. No fire or hazards were found to be present. The pilot, the
only passenger in the aircraft, exited the aircraft. The pilot reported no injuries and refused any
medical evaluation.
HCFR responded to the scene with 3 fire engines, 1 ARFF unit, 2 battalion chiefs and 2 rescues.
HCFR worked with Brooksville-Tampa Bay regional Airport management to mitigate the
situation, safely.
