a) The article was written and posted to the Washington Post on February 10, 2016.
There is no indication of whether or not the story has been updated since posted.
b) The article is relevant to the topic I researched because the article pertains to the
digitization of society and the connection to the advancement of mobile technology
directly affects the topic of the story in the Washington Post
c) In my opinion, the author is trustworthy due to the reputation of the publication she is
working with and the nature of the article does not indicate bias that would taint the story.
From what I read about the author, the author is qualified to write about the topic to me
because she does not inject much of her opinion into the story and presents the story in an
unbiased manner.
d) The information appears to be trustworthy because the story is presented from the
perspectives of the developer, the chair of the Rutgers program, and the common citizen
who may be unaware of certain aspects of social networking. There are links to other
stories placed throughout the article that can be viewed as evidence, due to the fact, some
of the article is backed up by the information in the links.
e) This article was written to inform and persuade in my opinion. I say this because the
article sheds light on information about certain aspects of the topic and the article also
promotes some of the interviewed developers business ventures.

a) The article from the Washington Post was more easier to access than the academic
journal covering the shift in technologys impact on education. I was able to simply read
the Washington Posts subsections to discover the story on the societal adjustments to
online networking. In contrast, discovering the academic journal on the effect mobile
technology has on classrooms took more work as I had to log into the CCBC library to
access the database versus simply viewing a publication like the Washington Post.
b) Both the article from the Post and the academic journal were not far out of date, yet
the Washington Posts story was more recent than the study conducted in the academic
journal. The academic journal was based on results of studies conducted and collected
leading up to 2014. The Washington Posts article was from February of 2016. The
Washington Post had the timelier article.
c) The academic journal had more qualified people involved in the creation of the journal
than the article in the Washington Post. The academic journal had studies conducted
from scholars and researchers to support and form the journal. The Washington Post had
many upstart and inexperienced people involved in the creation of their article I chose
besides the author.
