Reading
Students are meeting for individual reading
conferences. Together we set goals, check on
reading foundations and review reading
strategies. In addition students are learning
strategies to write better reading responses.
Students are using text evidence to back up their
thinking.

Math
Students will focus on multiplication and
division of units 0, 1, 6-9, & 10. Students will
their knowledge to solve word problems.
Students can use MobyMax to help with
learning their multiplication facts. I would also
suggest using flash cards. All students should
have their multiplication facts memorized.
Rocket Math
Many students are passing, and moving on to
the next operation. Please remember this is
homework every night. Students who study
the night before have a greater chance of
passing.

Science
Our weather unit learning targets include:
Represent data to describe typical
weather conditions expected during
a particular season.

Obtain and combine information to

describe climates in different regions
of the world.

Writing
Students will continue to focus on imaginative
narrative writing. Students have finished their
imaginative writing with a lot of support. Your
third grade will continue writing on their own
showing all the writing strategies they have
learned. After conferences students will
spend their writing time finishing up on writing
their group documentaries.

Conferences
Conferences are next week. If you havent signed
up please do. I look forward to discussing your
childs progress.

Homework
There will be a slight change to the homework
calendar. Starting on Monday, students will have
a weekly homework log. The weekly log needs to
be signed and returned at the end of the week.
Please help remind your child to bring their orange
homework folder to school EVERYDAY. Before your
child leaves in the morning please ask to make
sure they have them. In addition, please help your
third grader to return their Friday folder on time as
well.
