TOPIC; Diversity in school, in

America, and the furry subcultures

impact on young Americans
INTRO;
Youre all familiar with racism and equality and the effort to make
schools fully equal. Well Im here to tell you equality and racism
have absolutely nothing to do with each other, one is about
stereotyping a group of people that share a skin color. Equality in
schools, is acknowledging local history, taking into consideration
the stats, the graduation rates, the average gpas and the average
grades.
What I am trying to tell you is, school A and school B are both in
the same school district. School A has a class offered that is A
Mexican-American studies course
School B dropped this course because it "promotes racial
resentment against 'Whites,' and advocates ethnic solidarity of
Latinos."
At School A, Latinos are 46 percent to 150 percent more likely to
graduate from high school than those at school B.
Now The end goal is to have this Mexican-American course be
offered to everyone at both schools in the town, the class was
made for the large group living in the town that has a common
history and common problems.
Acknowledging that white/black does not matter, people in this
town were kept as slaves for a hundred years and then were
forced to live only on the east side for the next 50 before racial
equality became a thing and they were supposedly now
completely equal.

News flash. You cant make the half of the town suffering from
poverty from a past of discrimination suddenly on par with the
other half that has had the upper hand in education for like 200
years! Its only logical that the schools in this town offer classes
structured for the suffering half of town to help give them the
skills and advantage they need to make the entire town and
country a better place that is not just split between the privileged
and the have-nots. Who really cares if Mexicans were the ones
discriminated against, the black people discriminated against, the
white people discriminated against?!? The fact that anyone was
discriminated against is a blood stain on humanity, were not
going to clean that stain by refusing to admit the stain is still
here.

Diversity in schools is not limited to race. Everything SHOULD

play in, religion, culture, how you learn best, what you enjoy
doing.
Now Im going to make an example out of something I am, but
my point is that every group you fit into, weather it be a mix of
Christianity, football, trading card games, video games
WHATEVER. For me, Im a furry, I am a fun loving, fur loving, hug
loving, nerd. Being a fur, I love kindness and Could not give two
craps about your skin color or your past mistakes. What I care
about is what people do now. In front of me, and around me. If I
could take classes where it is not expected for kids to be jerks,
slackers, or even worse a class where kids will do all the work in a
group project, even though someone else in the group has ideas,
thoughts, and devotion to the class. If I could have taken a night
off every other week or maybe every Saturday I could go hang
with a bunch of other furries around town and relax and calm
down from all the stress I get at school, that would have been
GREAT. But at my school, anime is commonplace and no one

cares about it, but furries are blocked out because, we dont like
the exact same things everyone else at school likes. For the soul
fact that one furry might be a jock, the next a full on nerd, the
next a 4.0 scholar, and the next a dropout. The soul fact we share
traits with multiple groups, and can get along with groups other
than our own. People completely disregard our group and refuse
to acknowledge it even exists. Somewhere along the line, people
forgot that diversity is more about every person being unique and
less about have blacks, whites, aisans, and Mexicans all in the
same school. Theyve failed to realize Furries are the definition of
diversity, every furry is a COMPLETELY different person. You go to
anime, they all have the same story with just a few pieces
different. You go to sports meets or hang outs. You hear a new
tune. But the entire group sings the same tune just slightly
different notes here and there. If there WAS a furry group or club,
youd walk in, they all sing a different tune, with only a few notes
the same.
You tell me, what to you is a perfect example or what should be
the best example of diversity, how should we change schools so
that diversity will benefit us?
