challenging the entire school to join in when March comes!

Seuss hat on Wednesday!

DuPont Challenge 2016

Topic: Teaching our school community about nutrition

----IN SCHOOL PROJECT---What we must do
1.

Conduct background research

2.

Construct a plan/procedure for how to test or explore your challenge

3.

Observe and gather information

4.

Analyze your data

5.

Interpret your data

How we must do it

Using words and original student drawings/artwork, tell the story of your project in a PowerPoint
presentation.

Suggested Presentation Elements:

Beginning Section: Cover & Introduction to project challenge questions/topic

Second Section: Introduction to project challenge questions/topic and description of your plan

Third Section: What did you observe?

Final Section: Draw a conclusion of what you have learned. Why is it important?

----AT HOME HELP---We will do the research and educated each other. To show evidence that our research project has
made an impact; I need your help from home!
We will be spearheading a snack challenge for the school during March. March is National Nutrition
Month. Since the DuPont Challenge is due to be submitted March 1st, we must do this on a smaller
scale in our classroom. Please do your best to send in vegetables, fruits, or other whole foods that are
healthy, or that your child has researched. That is how we can prove our project helped our classroom
community!
Last year, my class was awarded 2nd place in the country for 2nd grade. This year, we are aiming to
rank again! First place would be a fabul ous honor!

Thank you for your support!

Wish us luck!
