DISCUSSION LEADER ASSESSMENT CRITERIA (15 points, 10% of the final

grade)
As a discussion leader, your performance will be assessed by the following criteria and
scale.

Description
- Form 3-5 discussion questions that possess high quality (see characteristics of
a good discussion question in the DL Guideline
- Submit the questions on time
- Provide constructive feedback (i.e., Corrective, Informative, and/or Socratic)
- Demonstrate excellent facilitation skill (e.g., actively interact with participants,
encourage them to participate, respond clearly to their questions, provide prompt
feedback)
- Follow the Discussion Etiquettes
- Post responses at least once every day (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)
- The total number of constructive postings should be no less than 10. These
postings should be distributed evenly throughout the week.
- Highlight at least 3 different key points derived from the discussion. Give
examples excerpted from different participants to support those key points
- Reflect on your experience with this activity by responding to the questions
suggested in the guideline
- Provide constructive and integrated recommendations related to the above 3
key points
- Submit a summary on time

Notes:
1) A half point or more will be deducted from each criterion if any
expectations are not met.
2) All late postings will be subjected to point reduction until reaching zero
