KATIE

Yeah, Im fine.
LYDIA
"Fine" isnt a good word and you
know that. You havent spoke about
it since it happened, if you want
to talk about it you know I would
listen right?
KATIE
Yeah I know, can you just drop the
conversation?
(She clenches her jaw and
looks back down at her book.)
LYDIA
(She sighed)
Katie, she was your best friend for
years. I dont want to push you but
youve shut yourself off from
everyone for a week-and by everyone

KATIE
Breaths in deeply and looks to LYDIA.
LYDIA
Did you hear what I just said?

She shoves her belongings in her bag quickly
I have to go, my DAD is expecting
me home soon and its getting late.
She stands up from the floor
LYDIA
Looks at KATIE a little confused.
Its only 6:30KATIE
She walks quickly towards the bedroom door
Ill see you tomorrow, LYDIA.
EXT. WOODS.
FADES IN
PENNY lays on the ground still and quiet.
KATIE
(She walks to PENNY slowly.)
Penny?
She moves PENNY onto her back with fear on her face as she
sees blood on PENNYS head and sobs.
(She sobs.)
Penny...
She looks up and sees PENNYS blood on a large rock beside
them. She looks around in panic but sees the surroundings
empty then looks back down at PENNY, KATIE runs her fingers
through her hair then sees bloody on her hands. She stands
up quickly and runs off.
CUTS BACK TO PRESENT
EXT. STREETS
KATIE walks down the empty dark street, keeping her head
down.
She walks into a dark dingy ally.
Books slip out of her hands, falling on the ground.
HOMELESS GUY
He rushes over to her quickly to help KATIE

She jumps back, landing on her hands, with a small gasp.

T-Thank you.
She takes the books off him then walks away quickly.
CUT TO
INT KATIES HOUSE: LATER
KATIE walks into her house, its quiet and dark.
She drops her belongings by the front door, takes off her
shoes and coat then wonders into the kitchen turning on the
light finding a note on the counter:
Last minute meeting at the city. Will be back tomorrow
afternoon. Dad.
KATIE sighs and drops the note back on the counter, then
walks to the cupboard taking a glass then fills it up with
water. On her way out of the kitchen she turns off the light
and heads upstairs taking the glass with her.
Once shes in her room, she finds a change on comfortable
clothes taking them to the bathroom.
KATIE turns on the shower water, the water running down her
face with her eyes closed. When she opens her eyes she sees
bloody water running down the plug hole- a memory from the
night before, she rubs her eyes and blinks seeing the water
all normal. She turns off the water.
She walks out the bathroom dressed in her clothes heading to
her bedroom, when she opens the bedroom door something
smashes from downstairs. KATIE jumps looking back quickly,
she creeps down the stairs quietly breathing heavily with
panic.
She looks around the dark rooms seeing that everything is
normal sighing in relief. She walks back upstairs to her
room.
Once she gets comfortable in bed, she jumps from another
smashing sound from downstairs. She sits up quickly, jumping
out of bed.
KATIE heads half way down the stairs and looks through the
banister,

KATIE
Hello?
(She calls shakily.)
She walks slowly to the kitchen then turns on the light
seeing everything all normal. KATIE sighs in relief but then
the light switches off, she rushes to the light and turns it
back on. When she turns around PENNY stands there looking
muddy and bloody, wide open eyes and mouth with her head
tilted forward staring at KATIE.
CUTS TO
The front of the house looks dark when the lights go out and
a scream is set off inside.
