1.1 Overview
Teaching and learning is the core business of what we do at Christ
Church Grammar School. The Schools Teaching and Learning Policy
provides an over-arching framework that translates the values and aims
of the school into effective teaching and learning.
At Christ Church Grammar School, teaching and learning encompasses
four key components. They are:
1. Curriculum - This is simply what is to be taught. It is the common
set of knowledge and skills that teachers are obliged to teach and
students are entitled to learn. It is the first part or subset of the
schools teaching and learning programme;
2. Pedagogy - This refers to the method and practice of teaching
and represents how teachers teach the curriculum so that students
learn.

at
Christ
Church
Grammar School is the belief that all primary aged children are entitled
to a broad and varied curriculum targeted at their stage of learning
rather than their age. For this reason, at Christ Church, the Australian
Curriculum is read and implemented as a continuum of learning, where
students can be working towards Achievement Standards above, at or
below their current year level.
This means that if a student demonstrates competency levels greater
than those articulated for their year level then they will be afforded

4.0 EVALUATION
At Christ Church Grammar School, it is the responsibility of the Senior
Management Team and all teaching staff to constantly review and
evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning programs, following
the schools continuous improvement cycle. The cycle is as follows.
