Bonduel Middle School

Bonduel Middle School is planned, organized, and staffed to provide an excellent learning
environment for early adolescents. We strive to create an atmosphere that bridges the gap from
the self-contained classrooms of the elementary model to the fuller independence of high school.
We try to encourage the development of positive values and attitudes about peers and society in
addition to providing the highest levels of student learning. You will find a broad curriculum that
provides a host of experiences in core academic areas, related arts, exploratory arts, and physical
education. We strive to build strong bonds between students and staff to help them through these
years of tremendous growth. We place a high value on helping students assume more
responsibility for their education during the years at Bonduel Middle School.
Academics Core Curriculum
Bonduel Middle School students performed admirably on our state assessments last year. Our
students not only exceeded state averages on these measures of math and reading, but also
showed tremendous growth over previous years performance. This is due to a rigorous
curricular expectations and a determined and skilled staff to help students meet and exceed those
expectations.
Academics Individualized Learning
Our recent successes can also be traced to the implementation of periods each day where all
students are working on individualized instruction in the area of math and reading at their own
individualized level. Our staff work diligently during these ELT (extended learning time)
periods to provide each student with activities and instruction at their current level. Some
students are working on closing gaps in their skills, while others are tackling challenging
materials that exceeds curricular expectations.
1:1 Student Laptop Program and Best Practice Use of Technology
This high level of individualized instruction is the result of committed and highly trained
educators, utilizing the vast technological resources our district offers. Each middle school
student has a laptop for use both in school and home. More importantly though, we have a staff
trained to use these powerful devices to enhance learning and also equipped with many
researched based programs to help students maximize their learning.

Restorative Practices
Middle school students live up to the high expectations for behavior, but kids will make
mistakes. Our school has embraced the Restorative Practices model of handling these mistakes
in a way that holds students highly accountable for their actions and focuses on learning from
these mistakes in a way that creates and maintains a strong bond of those involved to our school.

Robust Extra-Curricular Offerings

A common concern of a smaller school, is that we will be unable to match the extra-curricular
offerings of our larger neighbors. This is simply not the case at Bonduel Middle School. We
offer a wide variety of sports, clubs, organizations, and activities run by individuals committed to
using these extra-curricular activities to further our mission of developing our young people.
Also, due to our size, students are encouraged to belong to many different activities and are not
pressured to put all their emphasis on one activity.
