Summer Internship Programme 

Summer Internship an integral part of the curriculum at NICMAR, serves as an excellent platform for the 
students  to  apply  their  academic  learnings  through  hands‐on  Industrial  exposure.  Positioned  between 
the  first  and  second  year  of  the  course,  the  programme  is  most  effective  in  widening  the  students’ 
perspective  by  providing  an  insight  into  real  life  organisational  situations.  It  gives  the  students  an 
exposure  to  the  business  world  and  practices,  and  an  opportunity  to  apply  concepts  to  practical 
problems.  It  also  helps  students  develop  in  the  fields  of  analysis,  interpretation  and  in  reaching 
meaningful inferences. 
 
During this period, students have to undergo supervised field training with a reputed organisation for a 
minimum duration of 8 (eight) weeks. This enables the students to carry out applied research in the area 
of  projects  &  management.  This  process  is  mutually  beneficial  for  both,  the  students  and  the 
organizations, wherein the students gain practical experience and the organizations get quality research 
and fresh perspectives. 
 
Summer Internships provide the companies with the opportunity to evaluate students’ candidature for 
future  employment.  Impressed  by  excellent  performance  of  NICMAR  students  during  summer 
internships,  many  leading  firms  have  expressed  their  keen  interest  in  absorbing  them  into  their 
organizations through Pre‐ Placement Offers.

Summer Internship Process 2009 at NICMAR, Pune ended in grand style with 73 companies participating 
this time. A wide range of companies from Contractors like HCC & L&T to Financial Advisory companies 
like  HDFC  &  Fortress  Financial  Services  ltd.  were  here  at  NICMAR  Pune  Campus  to  recruit  the  best
