February 29, 2016

To Leonard,
This correspondence is in response to your letter sent on February 20, 2016. The Parish Planning Council
met on February 22, 2016 and this is the written response to your request letter.
The Parish Planning Council does plan to form a nomination committee. The list of the committee
members will be made available to the members of Immanuel by announcement in the bulletin and/or
newsletter once such a committee has been formed.
Your request to use the facility for worship on Sunday afternoons is denied. Immanuel holds worship
service at 9 am and 11 am, which are readily available to those who wish to worship with us.
Your request to utilize Immanuel for the purpose of obtaining a tax receipt for offerings or any matters
pertaining to finances/bookkeeping is denied.
Your request to distribute material via the church mail slots is denied.
As per your last request for yourself and Josh to attend a PPC meeting, we do not feel that your
attendance to present would be constructive. Your past letters and website, have not been appropriate
in handling matters in a way that is God pleasing, nor pleasing to the membership and PPC at Immanuel.
Immanuel has been moving forward since the October 25th voters meeting. The Parish Planning Council
does not feel that discussion regarding your discrepancies with the 77.7% vote that removed Pastor
Fuehrer would be helpful, as it is a moot point.
Further to our discussion on your requests, the Parish Planning Council would like to offer you and the
other member of The Assembly a peaceful release from membership. This is based on several points
from Immanuels constitution. The Bylaws of Immanuels constitution 1.3.2, gives opportunity to
terminate ones membership by Peaceful release to join a Christian congregation outside of the
fellowship of this congregation. The Parish Planning Council recognizes The Assembly as another
Christian congregation. The Assembly is gathering to worship regularly, has adopted a constitution, put
in place elders (this could not be part of Immanuel as our constitution clearly states that elders are to be
appointed by PPC from the male members of PPC) and has an official name, as stated in your letter sent
February 12, 2016. Furthermore, section 3.1 of the constitution states members are to be under
Immanuels pastoral care. As you are worshiping elsewhere, with your own form of ministry, we dont
feel that you are under Immanuels pastoral care, nor would you access pastoral care offered at
Immanuel Lutheran Church, in the event of an emergency.
We encourage all to join us for worship and fellowship under Immanuels pastoral care at our regular
times. We do however, recognize your discrepancies and as stated above will offer you a peaceful
release so everyone can get back to lifting the name of Jesus high.
God Bless,
Kerri Masnyk Chairman
