H.V.A.C

H.V.A.C stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Heating and cooling systems are

used to control humidity and temperature in residential, commercial, and industry

buildings. They are also used in trucks that transport product to restaurants and

hospitals. Heating and cooling systems require mechanical and electrical

components, such as motors, fans, electronic sensors, and switches. All of these

components also require a technician to install and maintenance the system. A

technician works both indoors and outdoors. HVAC is always going to be in

demand and the field is always growing. It is expected to increase 30% by the

year 2018. A HVAC worker may work in all environments and conditions. They

work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather, whether it’s below freezing

and snowing or in one hundred degrees weather. It is not uncommon for them to

work in awkward or small areas due to where heaters and air conditioners are

located. Due to hazards of refrigerants workers need to take extra precautions to

frost bite or blindness. When working in small areas inhalation of refrigerants is

another hazard that workers have to be aware of. Professionals in this field work

around high voltage power lines and if not handled properly could be fatal.
